Become Involved with Outstanding Young Farmers

Purpose:
To recognize and promote young farmers who exemplify excellence and innovation in their profession. This program spotlights and profiles young men and women who have achieved success and who demonstrate leadership in the agriculture industry. It is further the aim of this program to develop among urban Canadians a growing awareness of the importance and impact of farming on the Canadian economy. This program unites top farmers from Alberta and across Canada providing an excellent networking opportunity to continue to grow their farms and succeed as farm business leaders.

One farmer or farming couple is selected at the regional event held at Farm Tech represent the Alberta region at the National Awards Program, this year hosted in Ottawa, Ontario from December 1 – 6, 2009. At the National Awards Program, each Regional Honouree attends and is recognized for their achievements. A distinguished panel of judges selects two of the seven honourees to be named as Canada's Outstanding Young Farmer. All regional honourees become members of the Alumni and are invited back to the National Awards Program every year to honour and welcome new members.

Sponsorship Opportunities

This program is administered entirely by volunteer alumni members and the generous contributions of industry sponsorship as outlined below: Thank you for your consideration.

Diamond, Platinum, Gold and Silver sponsors will be given the highest profile within the program of events and are encouraged to become partners in the program through an advisory role. Sponsorship opportunities include: attendance at the informal Sponsors’ Welcome and Reception on Wednesday night and tickets to the Luncheon on Friday at Farm Tech where the 2009 Outstanding Young Farmers for Alberta will be announced. Contributions “in-kind” are also welcomed and based on a value deemed by the committee will be given the appropriate designation.

All sponsors are invited to display a sign at the Sponsors Welcome and Reception on Wednesday evening. All sponsors will be given recognition at the OYF booth at the Farm Tech Conference and recognized at the Farm Tech Luncheon where the 2009 Award will be presented. All sponsors will be recognized in a quarter page color ad in two separate issues of the Alberta Farmer Express.

Diamond sponsors will have an opportunity to set up a trade fair-type booth in the banquet facility for the "Sponsors Reception" held previous to the banquet and awards ceremony. Representatives will act as a host to one of the nominees and be asked to introduce the nominee along with an opportunity to bring greetings on behalf of the company. Promotional banners will be allowed to be displayed.

• Complimentary Awards Banquet tickets wil be as follows Diamond sponsors will receive six, Platinum sponsors four, Gold sponsors three, Silver sponsors two, and Bronze one.

All sponsors are invited to display a sign at the banquet and awards presentation.

• Sponsorship will be identified and recognized with Diamond and Platinum logo on all printed material. Gold , Silver ,and Bronze sponsors will be recognized with a text listing of their name on all printed material.
